Falmouth Working Boat survey for insurance purposes. She was originally built in 1905 by Steven Brabyn and currently operates weekly as an oyster dredging vessel. These boats like to be worked. A little bit of oil and diesel in the bilges to keep the seams tight. She is nearly 100 years old.
LOCKDOWN 2.0
Firstly we would like to say that we hope all of our past, present and future clients are all keeping safe and well during what has been a very strange year.
So as we are now into Lockdown 2.0 we would like to provide an update on if this may affect the Yacht Surveying Business and in turn any upcoming purchases of boats or insurance survey requirements.
As it stands, as of the 20th November 2020, we are currently running a full surveying operation. All current Covid safety procedures are being adhered to in every sense, including but not limited to:
- Our surveyors require the vessel to have been unoccupied for 72 hours prior to the survey taking place.
- The surveyor will be alone on the vessel.
- All social distancing regulations will be followed whilst the surveyor is on site, whether this is within a boatyard or on personal land.
- The surveyor will be wearing a mask and gloves whilst onboard.
Please do give a call if you have any questions relating either to a survey or if you have any concerns regarding how it may take place under the current rules.
We hope that everyone keeps safe in these unprecedented times and hopefully many of you are still enjoying being on the water.
